Last year, the University of Missouri raised more than $435,000 for Heart of Missouri United Way. The organization works to empower children, families, individuals and seniors experiencing times of need. Our contribution as a university community played a significant role in United Way’s ability to fund $2.1 million in our community, the largest investment in the history of United Way’s community impact efforts in mid-Missouri.

This year, we want to contribute even more to those in need in our community by raising $460,000 and increasing our donors to 900. To help us toward that goal, we hosted the Mizzou Lives United Rally on Nov. 2. Faculty, staff, students and retirees donated items to local agencies, heard from leaders and got to mingle with Truman. Sponsored by the Panhellenic Association, the event brought in nearly 1,000 items worth more than $6,000. Read on for event photos.
