One of the questions my fellow Tigers ask me most often is, “How is the north end zone project coming along?” The $250 million Memorial Stadium Centennial Project has captured the attention of alumni everywhere, and for good reason. It represents a bold investment in the future of Mizzou while honoring the traditions that make our university special.
I drive by the project several times each week, but recently I had the opportunity to stand on the field and take it all in. What struck me most wasn’t the scale of the new construction. It was the care taken to preserve the iconic Rock M. That decision says a great deal about who we are.
Mizzou has always balanced tradition with progress. Our history, symbols and shared experiences create lifelong connections among generations of Tigers. At the same time, our university continues to invest in innovative research, outstanding facilities and transformational opportunities that prepare students to change the world.
As you return to campus this fall, I hope you’ll appreciate Mizzou’s unique balance. Whether you’re walking across Francis Quadrangle, gathering with fellow alumni or cheering on the Tigers in Memorial Stadium, you’ll experience a university that honors its past while confidently embracing its future. That enduring spirit is what keeps the Mizzou Family connected — and coming home.
