Four to receive the Missouri Honor Medal for Distinguished Service in Journalism

The University of Missouri School of Journalism recently announced the 2021 recipients of the Missouri Honor Medal for Distinguished Service. The four individuals will receive their medals during an evening reception and banquet on Tuesday, Oct. 5.

Medalists are selected by school faculty. Since 1930, the school has awarded nearly 600 outstanding journalists, advertising and public relations practitioners, business people, institutions and media organizations from around the world.

This year’s honorees are:

Richard Edelman, CEO of Edelman, a global communications firm

Maria Hinojosa, anchor and executive producer of the Peabody Award-winning show Latino USA

Tom Knudson, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist who specializes in uncovering and reporting complex stories overlooked by other media outlets

Eugene Robinson, political analyst at MSNBC and a Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist for The Washington Post
