University of Missouri Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Matthew Martens has announced the appointment of Graham McCaulley as interim vice provost for undergraduate studies.
A three-time Mizzou graduate and longtime campus leader, McCaulley has spent his career creating opportunities for students to put what they learn in the classroom into practice through hands-on experiences, community partnerships and leadership development.
“Graham has played an important role in strengthening undergraduate education across campus,” Martens said. “His experience and collaborative leadership position him well to lead the Office of Undergraduate Studies until a permanent vice provost is appointed.”
McCaulley currently serves as director of community engaged learning and holds faculty appointments in the Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business and MU Extension. He joined Mizzou in 2012 as an extension associate.
Since becoming director in 2023, McCaulley has reimagined and relaunched the Office of Community Engaged Learning, increasing course offerings, community partnerships and student involvement. He works with academic units across Mizzou to integrate community-based experiences into the undergraduate curriculum and oversees programs including service-learning courses, civic leadership internships and global service opportunities.
McCaulley also has helped advance universitywide efforts to strengthen undergraduate education, including Mizzou’s high-impact practices initiative and the Minor in Leadership and Service. He currently serves on Mizzou’s General Education Task Force. Throughout his Mizzou career, McCaulley has held leadership roles spanning undergraduate education, teaching and learning, faculty development and shared governance. He previously served as chair of the MU Faculty Council on University Policy and the UM System Intercampus Faculty Cabinet.
