A total of 9,138 new students officially became Tigers this week. For those moving into University of Missouri residence halls, a carefully coordinated move-in process helped make one of the biggest transitions of their lives feel seamless.
Behind every smooth arrival were a record-number 1,500-plus volunteers who greeted families, unloaded vehicles, carried boxes and answered questions. That collective Tiger effort allowed students and families to focus less on the logistics of Move-in Day and more on the excitement of beginning their Mizzou journey.
While months of strategic preparation set the foundation, personal touchpoints brought the community to life. Whether offering a warm greeting at check-in, sharing advice while carrying boxes, or giving families a lift to the Student Center aboard a Welcome Wagon, volunteers took every opportunity to share stories, answer lingering questions, and help our newest students feel right at home.
