The University of Missouri has received recognition from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) for student-focused communications.

Mizzou brought home CASE Gold in Leadership and Change Management — part of the prestigious Circle of Excellence Awards, which recognize exceptional marketing from universities, colleges and affiliated non-profits.

Judges praised the university for strategies that drove real results, including more applications, stronger enrollment and improved student retention.

At the heart of the success was the 2025 Student Communications Playbook, which provides guidelines for communicating with students from recruitment to graduation. The book was hailed by CASE judges as the standard for how every institution should deliver clear, streamlined messages to students.

Mizzou communicators also received Best of District VI honors for the playbook, plus another Best of District VI award for a campuswide student success campaign. Over 16 weeks, Mizzou’s student communications team rolled out content aligned with the academic calendar, collaborating with other teams across campus to amplify the messages through newsletters, social media, websites and more.
