The University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) appointed Tim Snider as the new associate dean for academic and student affairs on Sept. 1. Snider replaces Leah Cohn, who was filling the position in an interim capacity and is now the CVM’s interim dean.
“I look forward to working with faculty and students alike in continuing to implement and improve the professional program in veterinary medicine,” Snider said.
Snider is a 1996 graduate of Oklahoma State University’s CVM. His professional career includes three years as a rural mixed animal practitioner in Hobart, Oklahoma, prior to completing a pathology residency at the University of Tennessee CVM.
Following his time at Tennessee, Snider became certified by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists and earned a Ph.D. in infectious diseases at Oklahoma State. Snider then transitioned into a full-time faculty position at Oklahoma State where he served in a number of positions, with the bulk of his appointments involving classroom and laboratory instruction, while also providing diagnostic services and collaborative research in projects requiring pathology assessments.
“I am excited to join a talented and dedicated faculty and staff to deliver the veterinary program to the dedicated and enthusiastic budding veterinarians,” Snider said. “It is exciting to be part of the state’s preeminent institution and also be part of the land-grant mission. I hope I can contribute in several ways to the diverse missions of the CVM.”
