Public health students recognized by Missouri Public Health Association

Two University of Missouri Master of Public Health students recently won awards from the Missouri Public Health Association. Devin Hursey received the Edna Dell Weinel Scholarship, and Kayla Riel received the Health Profession Scholarship.

Hursey, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, works for the Truman Medical Center in Kansas City. His responsibilities include HIV prevention, sexual health and treatment adherence education to people living with HIV.

Riel works for Live Well By Faith and assists with the varying projects associated with the organization, as well as program development and diabetes prevention. She also recently completed an internship at the Miller County Health Department in Tuscumbia, Missouri.
