Each spring, the University of Missouri welcomes its most dedicated supporters back to campus for Donor Recognition Weekend, a celebration of generosity, impact and shared pride in the institution’s future. Members of the Jefferson Club — alumni and friends with sustained giving of more than $50,000 — return to reconnect with Mizzou and experience firsthand the momentum their philanthropy makes possible.

This year’s theme, Mizzou in Bloom, reflected both the season and the spirit of a campus recently named one of the most beautiful in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. Across Francis Quadrangle, Ellis Library and beyond, guests gathered for a series of events honoring leadership and legacy, from the Chancellor’s Society social and Library Society reception to the Golden Quill Alumni Excellence Award Ceremony, celebrating alumni who are leaders in their fields. Schools and colleges hosted additional events.

The Missouri School of Journalism dedicated a Memorial Garden honoring Steven “Lance” Heflin, BJ ’77, and Stewart “Vance” Heflin, BJ ’76, identical twins who worked in newsrooms around the world. And the Sinclair School of Nursing recognized donors at a ceremony as part of the weekend festivities.

Donor Recognition Weekend culminated in the Jefferson Club Annual Dinner, where members came together for an evening of gratitude and inspiration, including the inaugural presentation of the Mizzou Philanthropy Award.

Together, these moments capture more than a weekend, they reflect a community in bloom, united by a shared commitment to Mizzou’s continued excellence.
