University of Missouri Health Care System Chief Nursing Executive Shanon Fucik has been named a 2026 fellow of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL).

The fellow designation recognizes sustained contributions to nursing leadership, a commitment to service and influence in shaping health care. Nurse leaders who earn this honor provide expertise at both the regional and national levels through training and mentorship.

“Strong health care organizations are built on strong nursing leadership,” Ric Ransom, chief executive officer for MU Health Care, said. “Shanon exemplifies the impact nurses have at every level of our system, from shaping patient care at the bedside to guiding strategy across the organization. Her dedication to developing and empowering nurses strengthens our culture and ultimately improves the lives of the patients we serve.”

The AONL is a national organization of more than 12,500 nurse leaders. AONL will honor Fucik and 18 other inductees at its annual conference in Chicago this spring.

“It is a privilege to join such a distinguished group of fellows,” Fucik said. “I look forward to exchanging ideas and contributing the experience and insights I have gained at MU Health Care and throughout my career to advance health care delivery and elevate the nursing profession.”
