University of Missouri President Mun Choi announced today that Steve Robinson has been named vice provost for enrollment management following a robust national search. Robinson, a seasoned leader in student recruitment and enrollment strategy, will officially step into the role on May 26, 2025. He succeeds Rhonda Gibler, vice chancellor and chief business officer for Mizzou, who has served as interim vice provost for the Division of Enrollment Management since August 2024.
Robinson currently serves as vice provost for enrollment management at the University of Utah.
“Under his leadership, we hope to see continued excellence in enrollment, retention and other markers of student success that will build and strengthen our Mizzou community for years to come,” Mizzou Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Matthew Martens said.
Since taking on his current role at the University of Utah in 2019, Robinson has led initiatives that have fueled remarkable enrollment growth, including a 35% surge in first-year enrollment over the last five years. His leadership has been instrumental in launching new scholarships and creating the Enrollment Management Council, a strategic effort to eliminate barriers and expand opportunities for students seeking a college education.
With more than 25 years of experience in student recruitment and enrollment management, Robinson has held leadership positions at major universities including the University of Alabama, West Virginia University, the University of Oregon and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
“I am honored to serve as the vice provost for enrollment management for Mizzou,” Robinson said. “Strong recruitment and enrollment practices are essential to Mizzou’s continued success, and I am excited to build on the success of the talented enrollment management team to ensure Mizzou remains a top choice for prospective students.”
