Nine University of Missouri students will have the opportunity to travel overseas after receiving the United States Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship. The scholarship enables students with financial barriers to study or intern abroad, providing them with skills critical to U.S. security and economic prosperity.
“Gilman is a fantastic opportunity for students to take their college experience to a new level,” said Erik Potter, program manager for Mizzou’s Office of Global and National Fellowships. “Even more, all of the students who worked on their application with a fellowships adviser, a study abroad adviser and a Writing Center tutor have learned how to better advocate for their own academic and career goals.”

- Junior constitutional democracy and international studies major
- Destination: Spain
Lindsey Cunningham
- Junior environmental sciences major
- Destination: Costa Rica
Jack Darling
- Sophomore business major
- Destination: United Kingdom
Laci Fuhlage
- Senior agricultural education major
- Destination: Italy
Indeeera Gavin
- Sophomore international studies major, who is also pursuing the Honors Certificate through the Mizzou Honors College.
- Destination: France
Arch Kimbriel
- Senior animal sciences major, who is also pursuing the Honors Certificate through the Mizzou Honors College.
- Destination: United Kingdom
Taya McKnuckles
- Senior electrical engineering major
- Destination: Ireland
Lima Sherzad
- Senior biological sciences major, who is also pursuing the Honors Certificate through the Mizzou Honors College.
- Destination: Costa Rica
Emma Tolbert
- Freshman animal sciences major, who is also pursuing the Honors Certificate through the Mizzou Honors College.
- Destination: Thailand
