The University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine’s Veterinary Health Center recently earned re-accreditation from the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA).
Unlike human hospitals, most animal hospitals are not required to be accredited. The AAHA accreditation signifies a commitment to excellence that fewer than 15% of small-animal hospitals in the United States and Canada achieve. These hospitals voluntarily adhere to rigorous AAHA standards, which encompass areas such as patient care, facility maintenance and client communication — ensuring pet owners receive the highest quality care for their animals.
“AAHA accreditation is a reflection of our commitment to providing the highest level of care for our patients and the clients who trust us with their animals,” said John Dodam, director of the Veterinary Health Center and professor in the College of Veterinary Medicine. “This recognition validates that our procedures and practices meet the rigorous standards for excellence in veterinary medicine. We take pride in being a resource, not only for our community but also for advancing the future of veterinary medicine.”
