WHAT:
To help meet the growing demand for families affected by autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders, the University of Missouri Thompson Center for Autism and Neurodevelopment will expand its services in Columbia by relocating to a new facility at South Providence Medical Park. Mizzou is hosting a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the beginning of construction on the new facility, which is expected to open in spring 2026.
Currently, more than 2,000 children are on a waitlist for a diagnostic evaluation at the Thompson Center for Autism and Neurodevelopment. The new facility’s expanded capacity will more than double the number of annual visits to help meet the growing demand for clinical services.
