University of Missouri advisor Kibby Smith recently received an Outstanding Academic Advisor Award from the Missouri Academic Advising Association (MACADA). She was recognized in the Primary Role category and honored alongside other recipients at MACADA’s annual conference in St. Charles, Missouri.

Smith is a senior undergraduate academic advisor and works with MU College of Arts and Science students in interdisciplinary studies, international studies and philosophy.

“Kibby represents Mizzou’s excellent academic advising community,” said Jim Spain, vice provost for undergraduate studies at MU.

This isn’t the first time her work has been recognized. Smith was also one of three recipients of the 2024 MU Excellence in Advising Awards. She was nominated for the MACADA award by Mizzou’s Academic Advisors Forum.

"I am honored to receive this award,” Smith said. “I am surrounded by excellent advising peers, so I’m in good company. It’s a pleasure for me to support other advisors and write nominations and letters of support for them. I look forward to seeing who next year’s nominees and winners will be.”
