Jacob Lowell Cook, a graduate student in the University of Missouri’s College of Arts and Science, has been selected for the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) program.
This nationwide program awards funds and research facility access to graduate students whose research projects address critical energy, environmental, and nuclear challenges at national and international scales.
Cook, who is earning a doctorate in physics, is one of 86 graduate students nationally selected for this program. He will study materials science and chemistry for microelectronics at DOE’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee, where he will receive world-class training and access to state-of-the-art facilities to perform his research.
