University of Missouri President Mun Choi has named Senior Associate Athletic Director for Football Administration Marcy Girton as interim athletics director.
Girton will continue to build on Mizzou Athletics’ significant momentum. She brings more than 30 years of experience from all levels of college athletics as a student-athlete, coach and administrator, half of those years coming in the Southeastern Conference. She served as the chief operating officer for athletics at Auburn University and the University of South Carolina and as a football sport administrator at both Auburn and Texas A&M. She has also served as a consultant in the NIL space.
Girton follows Desiree Reed-Francois, who has accepted the role as athletics director for the University of Arizona.
The search for a permanent athletics director will begin immediately.
