University of Missouri Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Matthew Martens has appointed Brian Houston, a professor in the Department of Communication, as associate provost for academic programs, effective Aug. 19.
In this new role, Houston will oversee policies and processes related to academic programs, including academic program reviews and new degree program proposals. He will supervise the Teaching for Learning Center, the Campus Writing Program and the Director of Educational Assessment, and he will also support department chairs across campus.
Prior to this role, Houston was chair of the Department of Public Health in the College of Health Sciences.
