Each year, the University of Missouri Chancellor’s Committee on the Status of Women awards the Jordan Hoyt Memorial Tribute to a student, faculty and staff who go above and beyond to contribute to an environment of equity, fairness and justice for women on campus. These recipients have demonstrated respect for the diversity of women’s experiences and have helped to promote the advancement of women through education and advocacy.
This year’s recipients are:
- Melissa Horner, a graduate student in the College of Arts and Science
- Devon S. Issacs, a psychologist at the Mizzou Counseling Center
- Rachel Wechsler, an associate professor in the School of Law
“These women are steadfast in their commitment to fostering inclusive spaces where women on our campus, and in our community, can make connections and grow,” said Taira Meadowcroft, a librarian at the University of Missouri Libraries and co-chair for the committee. “Through mentorship, empathy, activism, they embody the core values of the Jordan Hoyt Memorial Tribute to Women Award. They utilize their platform to amplify women’s voices, provide support and empower them to become leaders.”
