Dozens gathered last week to remember Harlan, the Great Pyrenees who passed away in February. Harlan was a frequent visitor on campus for nearly 10 years, often appearing at Speakers Circle and happily accepting hugs and head scratches from Tigers of all ages.

To symbolize Harlan’s impact, leaders from the Missouri Students Association and University of Missouri President Mun Choi funded a white bench in Harlan’s honor. It sits in a peaceful and shaded part of Peace Park, symbolizing the joy and warmth Harlan brought to campus.

“I just want to say thank you so much to everybody who had a part in Harlan’s experience here at Mizzou,” said Harlan’s owner Linda Wood.

“I realize how much Harlan made people smile and the joy he brought to people,” Harlan’s owner Cris Wood said.
