School of Music cellist Nate Roberts performed at the beginning and close of the program.
Josiah Mendoza, Parker Owens, Jacqueline Chenault and Graham McCaulley read the names of those who have passed.
Vice Chancellor Bill Stackman laid a wreath in honor of those who have passed.
At the conclusion of the program, School of Music vocalist Yonny Astatke performed the alma mater.
Families of students were presented with a stole of gratitude and a yellow rose from Mizzou Botanic Garden.
A book in honor of each student, faculty or staff member has been added to the University Libraries collection.
University of Missouri President Mun Choi spoke with families and event guests.

University of Missouri Vice Chancellor Bill Stackman, the MU Counseling Center’s Michael Kaplan and the campus community recently gathered for a wreath-laying ceremony to remember the lives of Mizzou’s students, faculty and staff who have died from March 2022 through February 2023.

“As we work, study and grow together on this wonderful campus, our lives are continuously touched and enriched by the people who make up this learning community. When they are taken from us, we suffer a tremendous loss,” Stackman said. “Today we mourn the loss of these wonderful community members who have departed this life, but more important, we celebrate their lives and the contributions they have made.”

During the ceremony, the Switzler Hall bell tolled after each name was read. All MU flags were flown at half-mast for the day and the Jesse Hall dome was darkened through the night. Student names have been added to the tribute plaque in Memorial Union.
