The University of Missouri’s Naval ROTC Unit recently placed second at the 2023 NROTC Drill Meet held at the University of Colorado in Boulder in March. Midshipmen from 16 ROTC units from around the country participated in a series of events including a nine-mile endurance race, shooting competition, knowledge competition and close-order drill competitions.
The battalion placed second overall, and special honors were awarded to Chase Fievet, a sophomore history major from Robertsville, Missouri, as the meet wide high rifle shooter; and Anna Hipple, a freshman health science major from Peoria, Illinois, as the most outstanding drill unit leader.
The competition each spring encourages camaraderie and reinforces the virtues of discipline and tradition in the Marine Corps and Navy.
