Contact: Courtney Perrett, 573-882-6217, cperrett@missouri.edu

WHAT:

The University of Missouri School of Law Veterans Clinic, through its Tigers for Troops program in partnership with the University of Arkansas – Little Rock (UALR) Veterans Legal Services Clinic, will host a general veterans information session on various topics, including the PACT Act, a new law that expands the health care and benefits available to veterans exposed to toxic substances.

Both law clinics are spaces where, under the supervision of experienced attorneys, law students help veterans, at no charge, with their Department of Veterans Affairs claims. Both veterans’ clinics support veterans in receiving discharge upgrades while training attorneys to assist veterans in navigating the VA system. Students also contribute to amicus briefs and work on other advocacy projects in support of veterans.

WHO:

Immediately following the information session, experts from both clinics will be available to consult with veterans on Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) disability health care, benefits and discharge upgrades. Individual consultations are also available and can be scheduled here or by calling 573-882-7630.

WHEN:

9-10:30 a.m., Friday, March 17

WHERE:

Legal Services of Southern Missouri
809 N. Campbell Ave
