Alese Thompson, a clinical site coordinator and assistant clinical professor of clinical laboratory sciences at the University of Missouri, recently received three awards at the 2023 American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science-Missouri Spring Conference in Springfield, Missouri.
Thompson was honored with the Omicron Sigma Award for outstanding service, the President’s Award for Service, and Member of the Year — which recognizes an individual who has contributed significantly to the field of medical laboratory science and to the state and/or national ASCLS in the past five-to-10 years and who has, by outstanding example, inspired others over that time as an active member in the organization.
“Professional service delivered over a sustained period of time inspires others, accomplishes goals and builds community,” said Kathy Myers, chair of the Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences Department. “These awards highlight the outstanding service provided by Alese Thompson as she prepares the next generation of laboratory scientists who will improve the health and well-being of individuals in Missouri communities and beyond.”
