Katie Wilkinson has been appointed vice provost of data analytics for the University of Missouri and chief data officer for the UM System, effective Aug. 1, Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Faculty Affairs Latha Ramchand and Executive Vice President for Finance and Operations Ryan Rapp announced today.
Wilkinson will drive system-level and MU campus vision, strategy and execution of effective data management and governance in alignment with the university’s mission. In this integrated role, Wilkinson will work to ensure alignment between system-level data and analytics responsibilities and the MU data and analytics operation. Additionally, she will manage the Institutional Effectiveness functions as guided by the strategic priorities of the president and chancellors.
Wilkinson has led data management at MU Health Care for the last seven years through her role as Sr. Director of Information Management and Population Health for the Tiger Institute for Health Innovation, the unique public-private partnership between Cerner Corporation and MU. Wilkinson also served as the chief research information officer for the School of Medicine for two years before transitioning earlier this year to help develop data strategy and execution efforts at MU. Wilkinson has a doctorate in biomedical informatics, a master’s degree in political science and bachelor’s degrees in political science and math with an emphasis in computer science.
