Seven University of Missouri students recently received the Gilman Scholarship.
The Gilman Scholarship is a national program that helps students who might not be able to study abroad due to financial constraints fund those trips. The program seeks to increase the number of underrepresented students who study abroad. It also provides optional additional funding to study critical-need languages. This year’s Gilman Scholars are:

- Junior international studies major from St. Louis, Missouri
- Destination: Tokyo
Brenden Lankau
- Senior biology major from St. Louis, Missouri
- Destination: Costa Rica
Luke Odo
- Junior anthropology and international studies major from St. Louis, Missouri
- Destination: Sophia University, Tokyo
Lisbeth Price
- Junior international studies major with a peace emphasis from Boonville, Missouri
- Destination: Shanghai
Edith Ramirez-Salazar
- Senior political science and sociology major from Kansas City, Missouri
- Destination: University of Lancaster, England
Nicholas Rankin
- Senior international studies (East Asian studies) and English major from Austin, Texas
- Destination: Japan Center for Michigan Studies, Hikone, Japan
Feather Teghtmeyer
- Senior fisheries and wildlife science major from Blue Springs, Missouri
- Destination: Australia
