The University of Missouri has been named one of The Top Ten Online Degree Completion Programs of 2021, according to Value Colleges, an online guide to the best values in undergraduate and graduate education. The list, which ranks 50 accredited colleges and universities, placed MU at No. 9. Rankings were determined by criteria such as cost and student satisfaction.

Mizzou has been offering online programs since the mid-1990s. Today, Mizzou offers more than 170 programs through Missouri Online. Students can earn graduate certificates, bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees and even doctorates, all through virtual schooling.

More than 6,000 students have enrolled with Missouri Online for the 2021 academic year, many of whom are seeking to continue previous education or make a career change. Missouri Online offers students the flexibility needed to pursue a degree as a working professional.

In addition to online courses, these students also have access to many university campus support services, such as The Learning Center, in digital form.

“Students enrolled in online courses at Mizzou have access to MU's academic resources such as Tiger Tutors and The Online Writery,” said Matt Gunkel, the UM System chief eLearning officer. “These services, coupled with our high-quality degree programs, ensure students are supported every step of the way.”

This ranking by Value Colleges follows recognition from U.S. News and World Report, which earlier this year named MU as having the 14th best online bachelor’s degree program. In addition, MU’s online courses were recognized for their quality for veterans: the university’s online graduate education programs ranked No. 5 for veterans and its online bachelor’s programs ranked No.9 for veterans.

Value Colleges works independently to rank degree programs and provide guides for college students asking complex financial and professional questions.
