Mikaela Pulsipher, a doctoral student in the University of Missouri Department of Geological Sciences, recently won the Harriet Evelyn Wallace Scholarship from the American Geosciences Institute (AGI).
The award is given to the “top applicants who most demonstrate a strong likelihood of successfully transitioning from graduate school into the geoscience workforce,” a recent press release from AGI stated. Pulsipher is one of only two recipients nationwide.
Pulsipher’s research on carbon isotope records helps create a more accurate geologic time scale. The result helps researchers understand the paleoenvironment.
