University of Missouri engineering student Evan Schulte recently earned a scholarship from the Directed Energy Professionals Society (DEPS). Schulte is earning his master’s in electrical engineering.
Directed energy technologies focus on releasing energy in a rapid manner. It’s used in high-power microwave systems, lasers, electron beams and particle accelerators. During his graduate studies, Schulte has had opportunities to conduct research around microwave systems, lasers and high voltage capacitors in the Center for Physical and Power Electronics.
Schulte hopes to finish his master’s this coming semester and wants to work in research.
