Justin Hardy has been a senior military instructor and the assistant department head for Mizzou’s ROTC program since 2015.
From 2009 to 2012, Master Sgt. Justin A. Hardy was a platoon sergeant stationed in Dongducheon, Gyeonggi-do, Korea. Hardy was responsible for the health, welfare and training of 30 soldiers, along with a number of military vehicles. In April 2012, Hardy was promoted to first sergeant, making him responsible for the supervision of more than 200 employees. Fortunately for Hardy, being a leader has never been a challenge.
Hardy has been a senior military instructor and the assistant department head for Mizzou’s ROTC program since 2015. Helping students develop into leaders has been Hardy’s greatest joy as a teacher.
“My favorite part of teaching is helping students bring out their leadership skills and watching them grow into lifelong learners,” Hardy said. “It’s great to work with people who care about Mizzou. It’s hard to find that type of environment today, so many people just don’t care about values like respect, discovery, excellence and responsibility.”
For prospective students, Hardy encourages them to consider Mizzou because of the opportunities it offers to discover oneself.
