Want to explore research across campus and find the opportunity that’s perfect for your career goals? There’s an app for that.

In fact, the University of Missouri has rolled out three powerful new applications designed to set you up for success. These tools make it easier than ever not only to stay on track, but to exceed expectations.

From a chatbot built just for Tigers to a smarter way to register for the classes you need to graduate, Mizzou is putting success in your hands.

Here’s a look at three technologies that will give you an edge.

Roary

As Mizzou’s student support sidekick, Roary is designed to answer your questions and make it easy to find what you need. It’s also a closed system, meaning it protects student data privacy and doesn’t feed information back into other AI tools.

If you’re on campus, you’ve probably already heard from Roary. It sends an initial text the first week of classes. After that, Roary checks in with you throughout the semester to see how classes are going and how you’re doing overall. Best of all, you can text Roary anytime to get assistance or connect to other campus resources.

Pro tips:

  • Save Roary to your contacts so the number is easily available.
  • Respond to Roary’s check-ins — even bots don’t want to be ghosted.
  • If you opted out, no worries; just text “hello” to 833-434-0496 to opt back in.
Stellic

Take charge of your academic journey. Stellic is an all-in-one planning platform that lets you build a semester-by-semester plan, search and register for classes, and get real-time degree audits.

There’s even a feature that allows you to explore “what-if” scenarios to see what would happen if you decided to pursue that study abroad experience you’ve been eyeing. And you can “try on” new majors, minors and certificates to see how they would impact your academic plan.

Pro tips:

  • Try out the features before registration so you’re comfortable with the tool.
  • Review your plan with your advisor every semester.
ForagerOne

There are thousands of research projects happening at Mizzou at any given moment. We’ve made it easy to find the perfect one for you. ForagerOne connects you to faculty mentors and researchers based on common scholarly interests.

Here’s how it works: Faculty activate online profiles and indicate when they’re recruiting student researchers.

As a student, you can search those profiles to find a potential mentor and open research projects. You can also explore formal research programs, search projects by department or find specific studies using the search bar.

Pro tips:

  • Complete your profile as thoroughly as possible to ensure the best match.
  • Indicate that you’re seeking opportunities.
  • Use the tool to browse grants, fellowships and other external opportunities.

Be sure to take advantage of these platforms. Because at Mizzou, success is built into the tools and opportunities available to every student.
