Mizzou hosts annual CarFit event to help seniors adjust vehicles to improve safety on the road

WHAT:

Occupational therapy students from the University of Missouri’s College of Health Sciences are offering free vehicle assessments for older adults to help improve their driving safety. This service is part of a partnership between Mizzou and CarFit, a program created by the American Automobile Association (AAA), the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) and the American Occupational Therapy Association.

Mizzou students will assess and adjust vehicles to ensure older drivers have the right distance from the steering wheel, correct seat height, properly aligned mirrors and proper seat belt use.

WHEN:

8 a.m. to 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 31

WHERE:

Columbia Mall parking lot (near Wendy’s), 2300 Bernadette Dr. Columbia, MO 65203
