MU to test emergency notification system

The University of Missouri will test its emergency notification system at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23.

The University of Missouri will test its emergency notification system at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23. The test is part of efforts by MU Emergency Management and the MU Police Department to build a prepared and resilient campus community.

During the 3-minute emergency test, the following will happen:

  • MU Alert text and/or email.
  • Mizzou Safe app push notification.
  • MU Alert posts on X to the MU Alert and Mizzou accounts.
  • Alertus beacons across campus will sound an alert and flash for three minutes
  • Desktop notifications will appear on MU-owned devices.

The alternative test date is set for Thursday, Oct. 24, at 1:50 p.m.
