The University of Missouri will soon celebrate the accomplishments of 1,780 students with more than 1,900 degrees at MU’s winter commencement ceremonies.
“The MU community is proud of what our graduates have accomplished,” said University of Missouri President Mun Choi. “These students are well-prepared to make an important impact to our state, nation and society. That’s why a record 95.4% of new alumni find a great career, continue their studies, begin military service or volunteer within just six-months of graduation. This is one of the highest rates in the nation.”
Of the 1,914 degrees MU is awarding during commencement weekend, 1,410 of them will be bachelor’s degrees, 410 will be master’s degrees and 78 will be doctoral degrees. There also will be 10 education specialist degrees and 6 first professional degrees awarded. Some students will receive more than one degree.
"Finishing a degree is an incredible achievement," said University of Missouri Board of Curators Chair Michael Williams. "Today is the culmination of all our graduates’ hard work. It’s a privilege to share this moment with them and their loved ones. We’re all excited to see where they go next.”
In all, students from the graduating class hail from 43 states and 24 countries. There are also 432 online students in the December 2023 graduating class.
“Our graduates have learned academic skills and life skills,” said Latha Ramchand, provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs. “We know that they will go out and make the world a better place, no matter what they do.”
