WHAT:
A wreath-laying ceremony in commemoration of Veterans Day will be held at Memorial Union. This location holds special significance that goes back to 1926, when seniors at the University of Missouri initiated a commencement exercise and placed a wreath on the archway’s floor in memory of the fallen Tigers. This year, Jeffrey Crane, a member of the Missouri National Guard, will be the guest speaker.
Each Veterans Day, current students continue this tradition and lay a wreath in the archway to remember and honor the brave Missouri women and men serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.
