WHAT:
MizzouRec will host a grand opening for the new Outdoor Fitness Space at the University of Missouri. The event will begin with an opening ceremony from 1-3 p.m., which will involve a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by a reception in the Aquatic Classroom for MizzouRec staff, student affairs staff, student leaders, community partners, Truman and the Chamber of Commerce ambassadors.
Guest speakers include MizzouRec’s director, Dr. Stephen Byrd, the Interim Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Dr. Angela King Taylor, and Miyah Jones, the president of Missouri Students Association (MSA) and a MizzouRec student employee.
Following the opening ceremony will be a special programming session for MizzouRec members, which will run from 4-7 p.m. During this time, there will be giveaways, including raffle prizes (the first 100 students will receive a free MizzouRec water bottle), tabling and other fun challenges for all attendees to enjoy.
