WHAT:
On Saturday, April 15th, 2023, more than 500 University of Missouri students will spend the day volunteering throughout Columbia. Caring for Columbia is the largest student-led day of service at Mizzou, and students will serve at several sites around the city, including Mobility Worldwide, Habitat for Humanity, and the Central Missouri Humane Society. This tradition of service happens each spring.
WHO:
City of Columbia Mayor Barbara Buffaloe and Caring for Columbia Student Director Rachel Sacharin will be keynote speakers.
WHEN:
8 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Saturday, April 15th
WHERE:
Students start the day at 8 a.m. at the North Courts in Mizzou Rec on the MU campus. After the keynote speeches, they will work from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at various service locations supporting numerous organizations, including:
- Welcome Home, Inc.
- City of Columbia Volunteer Programs
- Central Missouri Community Action
- The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri
- Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Missouri
- Show-Me Central Habitat for Humanity
- Mobility Worldwide MO-Columbia
- Love Columbia
- Finger Lakes State Park
