MEDIA ADVISORY: MU director of athletics speaks on impact of Title IX at National Archives event

WHAT:

University of Missouri Director of Athletics Desiree Reed-Francois will participate in the National Archives’ virtual program “Title IX: Then and Now.” The program celebrates the 50th anniversary of the passage of Title IX.

Reed-Francois joins Sarah J. Axelson, vice president, advocacy, Women’s Sports Foundation, and Beth Goetz, director of athletics at Ball State University, to discuss how this landmark legislation impacted the landscape of women’s athletics, how it changed the trajectory of their personal involvement in sports and how they witness the ongoing influence of the legislation in college athletics and at their institutions.
