Construction continues across campus

Utility projects impact campus streets.

Aug. 1, 2023

Mizzou staff and contractors have been hard at work making improvements to campus throughout the summer. As we begin to welcome students for the fall 2023 semester, we have updated the construction impact map. The map is updated as projects are completed.

Please be aware of the following road openings and closings:

Aug. 1-11: Mick Deaver Drive will close for repairs at its intersection with Stadium Boulevard. The southern-most eastbound lane of Stadium Boulevard will close intermittently. It will reopen for move in on Aug. 12.

Aug. 12, 16, 17: Rollins Street open to one-way westbound traffic during move in.

Ongoing projects:
  • Virginia Avenue Parking Structure will be partially open for the fall semester as construction continues. Due to the timeline for material procurement, project completion was extended. Completion is expected in Dec. 2023.

Installing a steel frame from the bottom level to just under the top level on the east and west walls will add stability at the southeast and southwest corners. This work requires up to 100 spaces to be closed on each floor until work is completed.

There are no safety concerns for this partial reopening, which is due to a decrease in spaces, which are blocked for ongoing work.

Parking will notify faculty and staff VAPS permit holders as additional spaces open, with those who work nearest to the garage returning first.

  • Rollins Street, between College Avenue and Hitt Street, remains closed and is scheduled to fully reopen on Oct. 14. It will reopen to one-way, westbound traffic on Aug. 12, Aug. 16, and Aug. 17 for move in.
  • Hitt Street between Lake Drive and Hospital Drive remains closed and is not scheduled to reopen until the completion of Children’s Hospital in spring 2024.
  • Carrie Francke Drive at its intersection with Research Park Drive remains closed through Dec. 2023 as part of the Research Commons Thermal Plant.

Be aware of increased traffic and heavy equipment at construction sites across campus. Drive carefully in construction zones.
